Action Shot Camera – A POV Camera for Under $50

I love shooting videos.  Now my kids want to shoot videos as well.  The problem is, I don’t really love the idea of my 8 year old, running around, filming his Nerf wars with my $700 to replace iPhone 5.

Is Their a POV Video Camera for Kids?

This got me searching online for an inexpensive video camera for kids, ideally one that they could strap to a helmet or their handle bars.  I quickly found the GoPro, which is a highly regard POV camera, but at $200, that was more than I wanted to spend for my 8 year old.

A few more searches and I think I found the perfect video camera for kids.  It is made by Jakks Pacific and is call the Action Shot Camera.  It is a POV video camera and it is made for kids.  Maybe the best part…the price.  At $49.95, it is not going to be the end of the world if my son smashed it.

Here is a great video review of the Action Shot Digital Video Camera –

I Will Review the Action Shot Camera and Report Back

After watching the above video and reading the review of the Action Shot Camera, I am sold.  I am going to pick one up this weekend and have my son try it out.  No, it is not HD (that would cost $99 for the HD Action Shot Camera) but I doubt my son and his friends care.

I’ll let you know how the Action Shot Camera works!

Air Hogs Battle Tracker and Air Hogs Hover Assault Reviewed

It may be 95 degrees outside, but that doesn’t stop toy companies from thinking about Christmas.  It is right around now that the toy companies will start to release their holiday toys.  Every company is hoping to have the hot holiday toys for the 2012 season.

Air Hogs Ups the R/C Ante

Air Hogs is looking to make waves this year by offering some R/C toys with very advanced technology.  Recently we saw this video for the Air Hogs Battle Tracker –

It looks very cool from the video.  A helicopter that fires discs and a robotic battle turret that fights back.  I could see any boy over 10 loving the Air Hogs Battle Tracker.  I am just a little beyond 10 🙂 and I loved playing the Air Hogs Batte Tracker

Next up from Air Hogs is the Hover Assault call/helicopter.  Another really fun toy from Air Hogs.  The Hoover Assault can drive like a car, hop like  a rabbit and fly like an eagle.  It is a little hard to expain how it all works, so let’s role the video

The Hover Assault is great fun to play with, but it does take some time to master the controls.

Please check back soon as we hope to have our own pre-release reviews done as quickly as possible.

A Completely Different Type of Father’s Day Gift Guide for 2012

Over the years I have seen my share of Father’s Day Gift guides.  For the most part, they all start to look the same – a few ties, some beer and maybe a shirt.  Wow, is that boring.  I just spent a little time on Google searching for Fun Father’s Day Gift Ideas for 2012 and I think I found something really cool.

Don’t Get Dad a Gift Basket, Get Him a Man Crate!

A gift basket with bows and ribbons – for Dad?  No, I don’t think so.  You need to go with something more manly…like a Man Crate.  Yes, a gift basket for men that comes in a wooden crate and you need a crowbar to open it.

Think I am making the Man Crate up, check out this video –

Yep, and that is just one of the gift ideas in the Dad Does Father’s Day gift guide.  The gift guide is just getting started (it is only May 2nd as I write this) but they promise to have the perfect gift for every day when it is all done.  Even more impressive, they promise the Father’s Day Gift Guide will be 100% Tie Free!

Recon Rover

Really, what kid wouldn’t love their own programmable robot rover?  And really, what parent wouldn’t love a toy that teaches their kids math, logic and programming skills?  The Recon 6.0 Programmable Rover from SmartLab Toys is the toy that will make both kids and parents very happy!

What Is the Recon Rover?

To learn more about the Recon Programmable Rover we went to Google and searched on Recon Programmable Rover Toy Review and found a great one from DadDoes.Com .  You can read the full review, but just watching the video review of the Recon Programmable Rover pretty much tells you everything you need to know.

The Recon Rover looks like an excellent toy for kids ages 8 and up.  The price is a little high at $69, but when you think that some PS3 games now cost $59 – an extra $10 for a full robot rover is actually a good deal.

We encourage readers to head over to DadDoes.Com and read and watch their full review of the Recon 6.0 Programmable Rover.
